Ider Homemakers and Community Leaders

We meet the first Tuesday of each month.

The Ider Homemakers Club was begun several years ago by a group of ladies, headed by Louise Berry and Christine Dake.
It was planned with an idea of teaching area ladies the art of canning and preserving, quilting, crafting and fundraising for charitable
causes in our surrounding areas.  Classes were given and wonderful fellowship among the members began.

The club has prospered over the years and still, today, enjoys teaching these skills and  has about 25 members.
Our club supports the county fund-raising projects, and just recently helped bring the DeKalb County cookbook to reality.

Each year we elect a key member: Some of the past key members are: Linda O'Shields, Carolyn Wooten and Beth Martin.

Our club's Linda O'Shields and Carolyn Cox have been elected "Woman of the Year" by the DeKalb County Council, in past years.

Each year we have a fundraiser by selling chances on a hand-made quilt and selling fried pies and lemonade at a local event in Ider, Mule Day

Our club welcomes all new members!
