Portersville Homemakers and Community Leaders

The Portersville Homemakers and Community Leaders Club has been in existence since 1939. Our Club has always been dedicated to the education and empowerment of women. We have programs that develop not only homemaking skills but leadership and educational capabilities as well. We promote civic involvement with projects such as fund raising for the Collinsville Public Library and "Boo Boo Babies" for the DeKalb County Health Department, wrapping presents for the Collinsville Nursing Home residents at Christmas, among others. The Frances Crump Memorial Scholarship is given each year to a deserving Collinsville High School Senior in the amount of $250.00. We also like to kick our heels up sometimes with day trips to many area points of interest. Our members range in age from 9 to 87 years old. We like to think we have something for everyone.
